Bates College 4, Connecticut College 3 Baltazar Nets Two Goals for Camels

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Senior forward Leah Humes (Beaconsfield, Quebec) scored goals 2:06 apart from each other in the second half to lift the Bates College women's soccer team to a 4-3 victory at Connecticut College today. 

The Bobcats improved their record to 5-4-2 while evening their mark at 2-2-2 in the NESCAC. The Camels are 1-6-3 with a 0-4-3 record in conference action.

Humes tied the game at three with 3:41 remaining in regulation. Olivia Amdur (Chicago, Ill.) delivered a long cross from the left side and Humes re-directed into the net with a header.

Just 2:06 later, Amdur delivered the entry pass from almost the same spot on the left side. Amdur was able to chip it in to put the visitors on top for good.

Alex Baltazar (Ludlow, Mass.) scored a goal in each half to lead the Camels in the setback. Sophomore Amanda Proulx (Smithfield, R.I.) chipped in with a first half goal for the hosts.

An enthusiastic crowd of 500 cheered on the 2014 NESCAC Champion Camels on fall weekend at Connecticut College.

Sophomore Sarah McCarthy (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) made three saves to earn the win for the visitors. Alex Santiago (Griswold, Conn.) finished with four saves in the setback for the Camels.
