#22 Connecticut College 3, Colby College 0 Block's First Half Goal Ignites Undefeated Camels in Home Win

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Junior Livi Block (New York, N.Y.) converted on a set piece in the 19th minute to lead the Connecticut College women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory against Colby College on Tempel Green today.

The Camels, ranked #22 in the Country, remained perfect in the month of September with a record of 7-0 and are 3-0 in NESCAC play. The Mules fell to 2-4 with the setback and remained winless (0-4) in conference action. 

Junior Michelle Medina (Hartford, Conn.) chipped in with a second half score for the Camels, who out-shot Colby 14-4 in the triumph. Juniors Mackenzie Kingston (Charlotte, Vt.) and Lauren Steele (Westford, Mass.) assisted on the goal for the hosts.

Bryanna Montalvo (Rocky Hill, Conn.) posted her second shutout of the weekend, stopping two shots for the Camels. 

Sophomore Sam Rizzo (Swampscott, Mass.) made seven saves in the setback for the Mules.

The second goal of the first half was an own goal put in off of a cross from Alex Baltazar (Ludlow, Mass.) 

Baltazar leads the conference with seven goals scored and 16 points. Michelle Medina is leading the NESCAC with six assists while ranking second on the squad with eight points.

The Camels will host top ranked Williams College next Saturday for a noon-time conference showdown here in the Whaling City.
