LEWISTON, Maine -- Emmy McGoldrick's goal in the final second of the first half stood up as the game-winner as the 18th ranked Connecticut College women's soccer team defeated Bates College 1-0 on Saturday.

The goal was the first this season for the sophomore and the second in her career. It came seconds after her corner kick late in the period.

The Camels (8-1, 4-1 NESCAC) outshot the Bobcats (2-8-1, 0-7-1 NESCAC) by an 18-6 margin and held an 8-1 edge in corner kicks.

Connecticut College dominated the opening half with a 12-1 difference in shots, three of which were saved by Bates junior goalkeeper Sarah McCarthy.

Bates evened things out in the second half, taking five shots to Connecticut College's six. McCarthy finished with five saves; Camels keeper Bryanna Montalvo made one save, on Hannah Graves' shot in the 52nd minute of the contest, to earn her third shutout of the season.

Bates plays a non-conference game Sunday 1pm at Husson University, looking to end a four-game losing streak. Connecticut College next hosts Brooklyn College Monday at 3pm.
