Sara Kogelmann Academic All-America

AUSTIN, Texas – Connecticut College's Sara Kogelmann (Guilderland, N.Y.) has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Division III Women's Soccer Team, as announced on Tuesday afternoon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The junior defender and economics major was chosen to the third team.

Kogelmann is the first women's soccer player in program history as well as the second student-athlete who competes in any of the school's 10 standings sports to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America recognition. Connor Rodericks, a goaltender on the men's ice hockey team, was previously named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Division III Men's At-Large Team this past spring.

The junior defender, who has also been recognized as a two-time academic all-district selection by CoSIDA, helped anchor a Camel back line which blanked five opponents and yielded one goal or less 10 times in 15 matches. On campus, Kogelmann is a member of the Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Club (STEM) and Green Dot. Furthermore, she tutors other Connecticut College students in economics.

Sports Information Directors from across the country nominated and voted for the winners.
