Camels Place 28th at CSA Nationals, Coach Childs Salutes Arthur

NEW HAVEN, Conn.--The Camels posted a 6-3 victory against Mount Holyoke at the CSA National Championship before closing out the weekend with 6-3 losses to Dickinson and William Smith.

Ashley Arthur (New York, N.Y.) finished her Connecticut College career on the highest note possible in the loss to William Smith.

"Ashley's never give up attitude was on full display on Sunday afternoon in front of a packed crowd of fans, parents and several fans and friends of Ashley's made the trip to Payne Whitney gym to cheer her through," Connecticut College Head Coach Ted Childs.

"Arthur was down 0-2 and came back and won in the 5th like a steamroller," Childs added. "The last 3 games were some of the best games that I have ever seen Ashley play; and that includes wins in her career against some of the best players in the country playing out of Colby, Tufts, SLU, Wellesley, Mt. Holyoke and William Smith. She was determined and knew after the two games how she wanted to finish her career. Ashley has been a staple for the Connecticut College Program, playing at the #1 spot at many times and in the Top 3 in all of her four years against the best of the best. While also being a 3 time captain. We will miss her."

The Camels finished 28th in the Country.
