Women’s Squash Defeats Northeastern to Earn Second Win of the Season

AMHERST, Mass. – Freshman Molly Carabatsos (North Andover, Mass.) and sophomore Margaret Davey (Groton, Mass.) recorded their first victories of the year to propel the Connecticut College women's squash team past Northeastern University by an 8-1 score to close out a round robin tournament at Amherst College on Saturday afternoon. The Camels also fell to the host Mammoths, 9-0, earlier that day.

Carabatsos earned her first collegiate win by defeating Maggie Markgraf of Northeastern in three games by scores of 14-12, 11-3, and 11-8 at the No. 3 position. Davey defeated Jessica Qui at No. 2 in a four-game battle by scores of 9-11, 11-9, 11-9, and 11-8, and junior Jacqueline Chu (New York, N.Y.) earned a resounding 11-2, 11-1, 11-3 win over Brook Lundgren of Northeastern in the No. 8 position.

Connecticut College (2-3) returns to action when it visits Wesleyan on Friday, Dec. 8 at 6:00 p.m.
