HARTFORD, Conn. – The Connecticut College women's squash team lost its opening match of the NESCAC Championship Tournament to Hamilton by an 8-1 score at Trinity on Friday evening.
Freshman Johanile Hurtado (New Haven, Conn.) picked up the lone victory for the Camels at the No. 5 position, defeating by her opponent by set scores of 11-5, 11-9, 9-11, and 11-7. Another valiant effort was made by sophomore Noelle Guiliano (McLean, Va.), who fell to Maddie Sakheim in a five-frame marathon at the No. 8 spot.
Connecticut College (3-9), which is seeded 10th, will wrap up championship play in the consolation round tomorrow morning and afternoon. The Camels will face Colby at 11:15 a.m. and Bowdoin at 1:30 p.m.
