Erb & Urban Notch Three Wins Each to Lead Camels to Victory in Connecticut Cup

MIDDLETOWN, Conn.--The Connecticut College women's swimming scored 643 points to win the Connecticut Cup at Wesleyan. The Coast Guard placed second in the six team field with a score of 500 points.


Mary Erb (Readfield, Maine) paved the way to the victory with wins in 100 and 200 yard breaststroke with times of  1:07.84 and 2:28.19.  In the 50 yard breaststroke, Erb posted a victory in 32.03 seconds.  

Senior All-American Valerie Urban (Lancaster, Pa.) won the 200 yard butterfly in 2:11.69 as well as the 500 and 1650 yard free with times of 5:12.12 and 17:59.76. 

Lilly Gribbel (Pleasanton, Calif.) notched victories in the 50 yard freestyle and the 50 yard butterfly with respective times of 24.47 and 26:27 seconds.  

In the 100 yard fly, Anna Peterson (Winnetka, Ill.) posted a victory in 59.09 seconds.  Maeve Wilber (New Marlborough, Mass.) picked up a win in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 28.27 seconds.  

Julia Klier (Cohasset, Mass.) won the 400 yard IM in 4:44.02. 

In the 200 yard free relay, sophomore All-American Olivia Haskell (Norwalk, Conn.), Juliette Lee (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.), Charlotte Nixon (Rye, N.Y.) and Gribbel triumphed for the Camels in 1:39.45. 

Wilber, Erb, Gribbel and Haskell won the 200 yard medley relay in 1:50.59. 
In the 400 yard medley relay, Wilber, Erb, Peterson and Haskell tacked on another Camel victory in 4:01.69.
