NEW LONDON, Conn.--Mary Erb of Readfield, Maine has been honored as the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women's Swimming Performer of the Week for Connecticut College.
Erb broke the school record in both the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke with respective times of 1:05.65 and 2:21.95 in a dual meet with Williams College Saturday. She met the provisional standard in the 200 yard breast for the upcoming NCAA Championship in March.
Connecticut College finished 15th at the 2016 NCAA Championship with 74 points. It was their highest scoring in points and best finish at nationals since the Camels placed 14th in 2011. Senior All-American Valerie Urban (Lancaster, Pa.) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship in the 1650 yard freestyle Saturday, posting a time of 17:24.09.
The Camels will visit Amherst College Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. dual meet in Western Massachusetts.
