AMHERST, Mass.--Senior All-American Valerie Urban (Lancaster, Pa.) posted victories in the 200 yard butterfly as well as the 500 and 1,000 yard free to lead Connecticut College in a dual match at Amherst College Saturday.
Urban provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship in the 200 yard fly, clocking out with a time of 2:06.41. She triumphed in the 500 and 1,000 yard free with respective times of 5:06.98 and 10:26.51 for the Camels. Last week, Urban met the NCAA provisional standard in the 1,650 yard freestyle for Connecticut College.
Mary Erb (Readfield, Main), the reigning NESCAC Women's Swimming Performer of the Week, improved on her NCAA provisional mark in the 200 yard breaststroke with another Camel victory in 2:21.76. In the 100 yard breast, Erb tacked on another win with a time of 1:05.67. Sophomore Danielle Fergus (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) won the 100 yard backstroke in 59.13 seconds.
In the 200 yard medley relay, the Camel quartet comprised of Maeve Wilber (New Marlborough, Mass.), Erb, Anna Peterson (Winnetka, Ill.), and Lily Gribbel (Pleasanton, Calif.) cruised to victory with a time of 1:46.97.
The Purple and White won the dual meet by a final count of 163-125 against the Camels.
