Camels Improve to 3-1 on Spring Trip: Marcoux Leads Camels Past Wheaton (Ill.)

MAITLAND, Fla.--The Connecticut College women's tennis team played two matches in the Sunshine State of Florida Wednesday.

In the early match, Creighton University defeated the Camels 9-0. Later on in the day, Connecticut College secured a 6-2 victory against Wheaton University of Illinois to move to 3-1 on the trip and 3-3 overall.

Junior Charlotte Marcoux (Sudbury, Mass.) secured a 6-2, 6-4 straight set victory at second singles to lead the Camels past the Thunder from Wheaton. Junior Adrienne Sieverding (Red Hook, N.Y.) contributed with a 6-4, 3-1 (retired) victory at third singles. Angelica Warren (McLeansville, S.C.) checked in with a 6-2, 6-1 win at fourth singles.

Sophomore Susanna Studwell (Tucson, Ariz.) chipped in with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph at fifth singles for Head Coach Chris O'Brien's squad.

Sieverding and Aleksandra Drljaca (East Greenwich, R.I.) outlasted their opposition in a 9-8 triumph at number one doubles.
