SCHENECTADY, N.Y.--The Connecticut College women's tennis team opened its season in the Empire State of New York with the Union College Dutchwomen Invitational. The Camels turned in some impressive performances competing against Union and Nichols.
In singles competition against Nichols, Connecticut College senior Adrienne Sieverding (Red Hook, N.Y.) secured an 8-6 victory against Megan Nathanson (Scarborough, Maine) in the second slot on the ladder. At fourth singles, Camel sophomore Mariah Warren (McLeansville, N.C.) knocked off Danielle Mandel (Fair Lawn, N.J.) in convincing fashion with an 8-0 triumph.
In singles competition against Union, sophomore Emily Migliorini (North Haven, Conn.) knocked off Natalia Pezzuco (Johnston, R.I.), 8-6, at top singles. Sieverding chipped in with an
8-2 win against Paige Webster (Andover, Mass.) at three. Junior Angelica Warren (McLeansville, N.C.) eased past senior Mina Hsia (Fort Lee, N.J.) in an 8-2 triumph at fourth singles.
In doubles competition, Camel sophomores Brinley Bartlett (Malvern, Pa.) and Migliorini joined forces to take an 8-3 win against the Dutchwomen at #2. Alexandra Waldman and Rachel Weiss posted an 8-4 victory at fourth doubles against Union. In second doubles action against the Bison from Nichols, Angelica and Mariah Warren coasted to an 8-1 victory against junior Ashley Dallaire (East Bridgewater, Mass.) and Isabelle Leonardi (North Hampton, N.H.).
