MIDDLETOWN, Conn.--The Connecticut College women's track and field team visited Wesleyan University Saturday for their second invitational of the New Year.
The Camels continued to build momentum in the early stages of the 2013 season with three more wins Saturday.
In the 600 meter dash, senior Sarah Matthews (Westwood, Mass.) posted a winning time of 1:41.43. Matthews qualified for the New England Division III and Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships last week. After winning the mile last week at Bowdoin, sophomore Kim Bolick (Hopkinton, Mass.) qualified for the New England Division III and ECAC Championships with a triumph in the 800 meter run, posting a time of 2:20.98 en route to a personal record.
In the the shot put, sophomore Samantha Pevear (Somersworth, N.H.) tacked on another Camel victory, covering a distance of 35 feet, five and one quarter of an inch.
Michelle Wesley (Millwood, N.Y.) set a personal record with a third place finish in the 1000 meters, logging a time of 3:16.07 for Connecticut College.
In the 4x400 meter relay, Sarah Matthews, Kim Bolick, Caroline Leonard (Hingham, Mass.) and Wesley teamed up for a third place finish with a time of 4:22.88.
The Camels will head north to Beantown this Friday to compete in the Boston University Terrier Classic.
