Franz Leads Camels to 13th Place Finish at New England Division III Championship in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--(Photo of Bella Franz provided by Kevin Morris) Bella Franz (Watermill, N.Y.) posted a time of 2:16.95 en route to win in the 800 meter run at the New England Division III Championship hosted by Springfield College Saturday.

The Camels achieved their highest point total as a program with their 21 points, while equaling their highest finish with a 13th place showing.

Junior Kim Bolick (Hopkinton, Mass.) placed third in the one-mile run with a time of 5:02.43 for the Camels. In the 5000 meters, Kelsey McGinnis (Somerset, Mass.) posted a time of 18:04.97 to place sixth for Connecticut College.

The Camels took seventh place in the 4x800 meter relay. Kim Bolick, Caroline Leonard (Hingham, Mass.), Ashley Curran (Franklin, Mass.) and Bella Franz teamed up to finish the relay in 9:43.21.

All of the aforementioned student-athletes are honored as All-New England Division III performers.

In the 4x200 meter relay, the Camel quartet consisting of Gianna Rocchio (Coventry, R.I.), Ashley Bjorkman (Mansfield, Mass.), Tori Kenyon (Plymouth, Mass.) and Amanda Jacobsen (Stafford Springs, Conn.) posted a season-best time of 1:51.33.
