MEDFORD, Mass.--(Kevin McGinnis photo of Bella Franz) The Connecticut College women's indoor track and field squad visited Tufts University to compete in the Last Chance Invitational.
In the distance medley relay, the Camel quartet consisting of Bella Franz (Water Mill, N.Y.), Amanda Jacobsen (Stafford Springs, Conn.), Caroline Leonard (Hingham, Mass.) and Kim Bolick (Hopkinton, Mass.) placed second with a time of 12:01.04.
Because the Gantcher Center houses a banked track, this time converts to 11:53.40 for official reporting to the NCAA. The Camels improved their time by 1.39 seconds from last week and remain in 11th place on the national performance list. There are five Division III meets remaining this weekend that will impact the field of competitors in the DMR.
Coach Ned Bishop reports that Bolick will compete in the one-mile run and Franz will run in the 800 meters in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston this weekend to try to improve their standings in those events on the national performance list.
