WEST CHESTER, Pa.—(Photo of Sam Pevear Shot by Kevin Morris) Lauren Kennedy (East Longmeadow, Mass.) threw the javelin 114 feet, nine inches en route to a first place scoring at the West Chester University Invitational Saturday.
Kennedy qualified for the New England Division III Championship with her winning mark.
In the discus, Sam Pevear (Somersworth, N.H.) placed second and qualified for the aforementioned New England Division III Championship with a throw of 118 feet, nine inches.
Pevear added a second place finish second in the shot put (34 feet, five and one quarters of an inch) and was third in the hammer throw (125 feet, 10 inches) for the Camels.
In the 5000 meters, Emily Winter (Easton, Conn.), Anna Laurence (Newton, Mass.), and Nicole Adam (Cheshire, Conn.) placed second, fifth and sixth with respective times of 18:56.20, 19:38 and 19:49.27.
Marina Stuart (Philadelphia, Pa.) enjoyed her homecoming to the Keystone State by scoring in two events. Stuart covered a distance of 32 feet, eight and one quarters of an inch to finish second in the triple jump. In the pole vault, Stuart reached her apex at eight feet and one half of an inch in a third place scoring for the Camels.
Amanda Jacobsen (Stafford Springs, Conn.) place second in the pole vault, reaching a height of eight feet, six inches.
In the 1500 meters, Kelsey McGinnis (Somerset, Mass.) posted a time of 5:04.10 en route to a sixth place showing.
Tori Kenyon (Plymouth, Mass.) placed sixth in the 100 meters with a time of 13:42 for the Camels.
