Franz Places 2nd in 1500 Meters, Sets School Record at ECAC Championship for Camels

WESTFIELD, Mass.--Connecticut College junior Bella Franz of Water Mill, N.Y. posted a time of 4:31.96 to place second in the 1500 meter run, breaking her own school record at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship hosted by Westfield State University today.

Franz catapulted all the way up to #15 on the national performance list with her time today.

Junior Lauren Kennedy of East Longmeadow, Mass. threw the javelin 128 feet, four inches en route to her sixth place scoring for the Camels.  Sophomore Aly Saperstein of Simsbury, Conn. posted a season-best throw of 122 feet, one inch in the javelin.

In the discus, Emily Senatore of Norwell, Mass. capped off her productive rookie season with a sixth place showing, tying her own school record with a throw of 134 feet, 11 inches.

Senior Emily Winter of Easton, Conn. improved on her personal record by more than seven seconds in the 3000 meter steeplechase, posting a time of 11:23.12 for the Camels.

The Camels scored 14 points to finish in 22nd place out of 60 scoring teams.
