Camels Open Season with Two Five Game Victories

NEW LONDON, Conn.—The Connecticut College Camels opened the 2013 season with a tri-match against Wheaton College and Keene State College at Luce Field House Saturday. 

The Camels (2-0) won both of their matches in five games. In the early match, the Camels outlasted the Lyons of Wheaton College 25-16, 25-18, 20-25, 22-25 and 15-9.

In the final match of the night, the Camels rallied from two games down to ground the Owls of Keene State with scores of 25-27, 19-25, 25-13, 25-17 and 15-11. 

Caroline Martin (Palo Alto, Calif.) buried 16 kills. Anelise Hohl (Atherton, Calif.) recorded three blocks. Emily Arterbury (Austin, Texas) dished out 29 assists in the Wheaton match.

In the Keene State victory, Kohl added seven kills. Cailyn Straubel (Dallas, Texas) registered 15 digs for the winning side.
