Camels Fall to Tufts & UMass-Boston-Ainley Contributes 22 Kills & 10 Blocks in Doubleheader

MEDFORD, Mass.--The Connecticut College volleyball team visited Tufts University Saturday for a challenging tri-match against the Tufts Jumbos along with the 2013 NCAA Regional Champs from the University of Massachusetts-Boston.

In the early match, the Camels dropped a 3-0 decision to the Jumbos. The game scores were 25-15, 25-20 and 25-23 in favor of the hosts. Later on in the day, UMass-Boston posted a 3-1 victory.  The game scores were 25-23, 22-25, 25-19 and 25-16 in favor of the Beacons. 

Tufts defeated UMass Boston in the third match of the day by a count of 3-1. The game scores were 18-25, 25-18, 25-7 and 25-7 in favor of the hosts.

At the conclusion of the day's action, the Jumbos had improved their record to 11-4 with a perfect 3-0 record in the NESCAC. Connecticut College moved to 6-6 with a 2-1 record in conference play while the Beacons evened their record at 8-8. 

Chloe Ainley (San Jose, Calif.) buried 22 kills to go with 10 blocks in the day's action. Sophomore Caroline Martin (Palo Alto, Calif.) registered 20 kills and 32 digs for the Camels. Jamie Balkin (Glencoe, Ill.) finished with 33 digs for Connecticut College. 

First year setter Emily Arterbury (Austin, Texas) dished out 63 assists and had five aces for Connecticut College.
