Connecticut College 3, Hamilton College 1 Ainley Explodes with 15 Kills for Camels

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Chloe Ainley (San Jose, Calif.) erupted with 15 kills, two digs and two blocks to lead the Connecticut College volleyball to a 3-1 NESCAC victory against Hamilton College at Luce Field House Saturday.

With their third consecutive victory, the Camels improve their record to 10-9 with a 5-4 mark in conference play. The Continentals slip to 4-16 with a 0-8 record in league action. 

The set scores were 25-18, 19-25, 29-27 and 25-22 in favor of the hosts.

Sophomore Caroline Martin (Palo Alto, Calif.) posted a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs. Ella Johnson (Seal Beach, Calif.) checked in with eight kills and three blocks. 

Alex Mcdevitt (Medfield, Mass.) contributed with six kills, three aces and five digs for the hosts. Sophomore Kaitlin Cunningham (Ridgefield, Conn.) doled out 37 assists to go with 13 digs.

Cailyn Straubel (Dallas, Texas) had a big day with 19 digs in the triumph. 

Hamilton College sophomore Courtney Somerville (Chicago, Ill.), Jessica Weston (Spring Valley, Ohio) and Ivanka Temnycky (Manlius, N.Y.) all finished with eight kills for the Continentals. Senior setter Sarah Pfund (Ho-Ho Kus, N.J.) dished out 30 assists and added eight digs for the visitors.

Junior libero Anna Brown (Colorado Springs, Colo.) chipped in with 17 digs and four aces to lead the Continental defense.
