WALTHAM, Mass.--The Connecticut College volleyball team paid a visit to the Watch City of Waltham Saturday to compete in a tri-match with Brandeis University and Endicott College.
The Camels (15-11) earned a 3-2 victory against the host Judges of Brandeis. The set scores were 25-21, 20-25, 25-18, 22-25 and 15-12 in favor of the Camels. In their second match, the Camels grounded the Gulls from Endicott in three. The set scores were 25-19, 25-16 and 25-17 in favor of the Camels.
In the Brandeis victory, Ella Johnson (Seal Beach, Calif.) erupted with a double-double, burying 12 kills to go along with 13 digs. Sophomore Gabi Taylor (Austin, Texas) chipped in with eight kills and 19 digs for the Camels. First year setter Emily Arterbury (Austin, Texas) dished out 38 assists to go with five kills and five digs for the winning side.
Sophomore Jamie Balkin (Glencoe, Ill.) recorded 25 digs to lead the Camels on the defensive side of the ball.
Caroline Martin (Palo Alto, Calif.) buried 12 kills to go with six digs in the Endicott win. Anelise Hohl (Atherton, Calif.) checked in with nine kills and zero errors on 16 hits, registering an impressive .562 hitting percentage. Johnson added eight kills in the triumph.
Sophomore Kaitlin Cunningham (Ridgefield, Conn.) dished out 33 assists to go along with seven digs.
Cailyn Straubel (Dallas, Texas) contributed at the libero position, racking up 17 digs for the victors.
