Hunter Buries 15 Kills in Collegiate Debut for Camels

NORTON, Mass.--The Connecticut College volleyball team opened its season at Wheaton College Saturday.

The Camels dropped a 3-1 decision to the Lyons. Set scores were 25-23, 17-25, 25-19 and 25-22 in favor of the hosts. Keene State College posted a 3-0 victory against Connecticut College. The set scores were 28-26, 25-11 and 25-19 in favor of the Owls.

Rookie right side hitter Sam Hunter (Palos Verdes, Calif.) buried 15 kills to go with two block and one service ace in her collegiate debut for Connecticut College.  Sophomore Alex McDevitt (Medfield, Mass.) contributed with 13 kills, four blocks and three digs for the Camels.  Gabi Taylor (Austin, Texas) added 10 kills and eight digs in six sets played for Connecticut College.

Junior Caroline Martin (Palo Alto, Calif.) registered 10 kills and 16 digs with one block in five sets of action.

Andrea Mullaney (New Canaan, Conn.) chipped in with nine kills, seven blocks and four digs in seven sets of play.

Sophomore setter Emily Arterbury (Austin, Texas) dished out 29 assists to go with 11 digs and a pair of aces.

Katia Elisman (Lake Forest, Ill.) registered 25 assists while adding eight digs and a pair of aces.
