Elisman Dishes Out 57 Assists in Split with Regis & Johnson & Wales

PROVIDENCE, R.I.--The Connecticut College volleyball team visited Johnson & Wales University for a pair of non-conference matches Saturday.

The Camels (6-3) earned a split, topping Regis College (1-11), 3-1, before closing out the day with a 3-0 loss to the undefeated Wildcats (13-0) from Johnson & Wales. 

The set scores in the victory against the Pride were 26-24, 22-25, 25-20 and 25-19 in favor of the Camels. In the second match, the 'Cats earned a victory with scores of 25-13, 25-19 and 25-16 scores.

Senior co-captain Alex McDevitt (Medfield, Mass.) posted 10 kills and 13 digs en route to a double-double in the Camel victory. Classmate and fellow captain Ella Johnson (Seal Beach, Calif.) buried 11 kills while adding five aces. Junior Sam Hunter (Palos Verdes, Calif.) had five service aces of her own and finished with nine kills and 10 digs.

Junior setter Katia Elisman (pictured, Lake Forest, Ill.) dished out 36 assists. Junior libero Caroline Branigan (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) had eight digs.
McDevitt posted eight kills and 17 digs in the loss to Johnson & Wales. Junior Belinda Mulally (Garden Grove, Calif.) had five kills and eight digs. Hunter had six kills and nine digs. Elisman doled out 21 assists to go with her eight digs.  Rookie libero Dayna McCue (Franklin, Mass.) finished with 13 digs in the match.
