NEW LONDON, Conn.—Isabel Sessions (Chicago, Ill.) buried 10 kills while junior Becca Raffel (Palo Alto, Calif.) registered nine kills and 13 digs to lead the Middlebury College volleyball team to a 3-1 victory at Connecticut College Friday. The set scores were 16-25, 25-19, 25-20 and 25-21 in favor of the visitors.
Middlebury improved its record to 8-3 with a 3-1 mark in the NESCAC. They have won five in a row. The Camels played well tonight but fell to 7-4 with a 2-1 mark in conference action.
Rookie defensive specialist Gigi Alper (Mill Valley, Calif.) finished with 16 digs for the winning side. Senior setter Hannah Blackburn (Chapel Hill, N.C.) dished out 17 assists with eight digs for the Panthers.
Connecticut College sophomore Jenny Kellogg (Los Altos, Calif.) buried 12 kills and added six digs in the loss for the hosts. Junior Sam Hunter (Palos Verdes, Calif.) posted a double-double with 11 kills and 16 digs, adding three aces and four assisted blocks for the hosts. Alex McDevitt (Medfield, Mass.) finished with nine kills and 10 digs for the Camels.
Junior Caroline Branigan (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) contributed with 14 digs in the match.
The Camels will host Hamilton College tomorrow for a 2:00 p.m. NESCAC match in the Whaling City.
