WNEU 3, Connecticut College 1 Kellogg Posts 2nd Straight Double-Double with 16 Kills & 14 Digs for Camels

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--The Western New England University volleyball team secured a 3-1 victory against Connecticut College in a non-conference match played in Springfield Tuesday night. 

The set scores were 21-25, 25-14, 25-18 and 25-19 in favor of the Golden Bears. WNEU improved its record to 10-6 and are now 6-1 on their home court. The Camels fell to 7-6 with the setback.

Connecticut College sophomore Jenny Kellogg (Los Altos, Calif.) erupted with 16 kills and 14 digs en route to her second consecutive double-double. Sam Hunter (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.) chipped in with a double-double of her own with 10 kills and 13 digs. Junior libero Caroline Branigan (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) posted 17 digs in the match for the Camels. 

Junior setter Katia Elisman (Lake Forest, Ill.) finished with 18 assists, nine digs and a pair of aces in the match.

Camel Tracks (Not Including Tuesday's Match): 

Senior Ella Johnson (Seal Beach, Calif.) sits atop the NESCAC with a .362 hitting percentage. Johnson has buried 59 kills in 32 sets. Alex McDevitt (Medfield, Mass.) and sophomore Jenny Kellogg (Los Altos, Calif.) are ranked 7th and 8th in the NESCAC with 2.68 and 2.65 kills per set. McDevitt has buried 102 kills to lead the Camels this fall.

Junior setter Katia Elisman (Lake Forest, Ill.) is dishing out 8.30 assists per game to rank third in the conference with her 332 helpers.  Sam Hunter (Palos Verdes, Calif.) and Elisman are ranked fifth and sixth in the conference with .49 and .47 aces per game.
