Millward Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for Camels

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College senior women's water polo player Kelsey Millward (Baie-D'Urfe, Quebec) has been named to the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-District At Large First Team for District II.  Millward advances to the national ballot where the Academic All-America Team will be selected and released June 7.

It was another terrific season for Millward and the Camel women's water polo program, who notched their fourth consecutive Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Conference crown here in New London with a 13-9 victory against Washington & Jefferson College in the championship match April 16.

A senior All-American and co-captain for the Camels, Millward was honored as the CWPA Division III Conference regular and post-season Most Valuable Player. She exploded with 92 goal, 16 assists, 33 earned ejections and eight steals to lead the Camels to a 15-9 record with a 14-3 mark against Division III competition. Millward holds the Camels' all-time career scoring record with her 256 goals scored.

Millward is a Scholar of the Toor Cummings Center for International Studies and the Liberal Arts (CISLA), a member of the History and Political Science National Honors Societies (Phi Alpha Theta and Phi Sigma Alpha) and has been recognized on the CWPA Outstanding Scholar Athlete Team.  She is a senior admissions fellow at the College and has contributed to the local community as an intern at an immigration advocacy and support center in New London. A Dean's Honors student, Millward will receive her degree in International Relations and history next week.
