WATERFORD, Conn.--The Connecticut College women's cross country team scored 15 points en route to its convincing victory in the Mitchell College Invitational held at Stenger Farm in Waterford Friday.
Junior co-captain Heather Rochford (Red Bank, N.J.) won the race with a time of 20:33 on the 4852 meter course for Head Coach Ned Bishop's Camels.
Mitchell College placed second with a score of 50 points. Albertus Magnus College scored 75 points en route to their third place showing. Post and Western Connecticut State University did not score.
First year harrier Anna Guay (Watertown, Conn.) placed second with a time of 20:38. Senior Marisa Shields (Norwalk, Conn.) posted a time of 20:45 en route to her third place scoring. Caroline Lucas (Falmouth, Maine) was fourth with a time of 20:47.
Junior Anna Curtis-Heald (Cumberland Foreside, Maine) checked in with a time of 21:14 en route to her fifth place showing. Bella Franz (Watermill, N.Y.) placed sixth with a time of 21:18 for the Camels. Ashley Curran (Franklin, Mass.) crossed the finish line just .2 behind Franz to finish seventh in 21:18.
