HANOVER, Ind.--The Connecticut College women's cross country team visited the Hoosier State of Indiana to compete in the Division III pre-National Invitational hosted by Hanover College.
The Camels ran well, finishing ninth in the 19 team field with a score of 224 points.
Trinity University of Texas scored 44 points to win the Invitational.
"This was a great experience for everyone," Connecticut College Head Women's Cross Country Coach Ned Bishop said over the phone in Indianapolis. "This is a positive experience for us, traveling to a huge event like this. I am very proud of our performance today.
The Camels placed two runners on the All-Invitational team for finishing in the top 25. Ashley Curran (Franklin, Mass.) paced the Camels with her 21st place finish in 23:19. Kelsey McGinnis (Somerset, Mass.) posted a time of 23:24 en route to her 24th place showing.
Sophomore Emily Winter checked in with a time of 24:10 in 49th place for the Camels. Sarah Huckins (Henniker, N.H.) logged a time of 24:52 to finish in 78th place. Nicole Adam (Cheshire, Conn.) was 80th with a time of 24:53.
