Rochford Leads Camels to Third Place Finish at Plansky Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.--The Connecticut College women's cross country team traveled to Western Massachusetts Saturday to compete in the Plansky Invitational hosted by Williams College at Mount Greylock High School.

The Camels placed third in the seven team field with a score of 82 points.

Williams College, ranked #7 in the nation, placed four of its runners in the top five to win on its home course.

Senior Heather Rochford (Red Bank, N.J.) posted a time of 21:13 on the 5k  course to lead the Camels with a ninth place finish. Anna Laurence (Newton, Mass.) placed 16th for the Camels with a time of 21:35. Haley Sykes (Foxboro, Mass.) was the third Camel to complete the course in 18th place with a time of 21:43.

Junior Leah Sabatino (Providence, R.I.) finished 19th with a time of 21:49. Sabina Flandrick (Boulder, Colo.) checked in with a time of 22:11 en route to a 24th place scoring.

Many members of the team ran a tempo run to help them prepare for next week's NESCAC Championship at Middlebury College.
