Curran, Franz Lead Camels to Ninth Place Finish at Home Invitational

WATERFORD, Conn.--The Connecticut College women's cross country team hosted its home invitational at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford today.

The Camels scored 251 points to finish ninth in the 22 team field. Tufts University scored 63 points to win the invitational. Middlebury College placed second in the field with a score of 70 points today. 

Senior Ashley Curran (Franklin, Mass.) posted a time of 21:58 to place fourth on the 6k course for the Camels. Classmate Bella Franz (Water Mill, N.Y.) placed 10th in the field with a time of 22:11 for the hosts. Both runners were honored on the All-Invitational Team for placing in the top 15.

Junior Grace Sheeran (Medina, Wash.) finished in 97th place with a time of 24:20 and was followed by senior Sabina Flandrick (Boulder, Colo.), who posted a time of 24:22 as the 99th runner to complete the course. Rookie harrier Hannah Noyes (Vinalhaven, Maine) finished in 102nd place with a time of 24:24 for the Camels. 

Junior Micaela Nee (Hanover, Mass.) was next in 105th place with a time of 24:26. Sophomore Steph Van Riet (Dover, Mass.) was the seventh Camel and 111th runner to cross the finish line with a time of 24:33.
