NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Connecticut College women's cross country team placed 10th among 40 scoring programs at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday morning.
For the second straight meet, freshman Meredith Cronin (Foxboro, Mass.) led the Camels by placing 23rd overall among 299 runners and navigating a 5,000-meter circuit in 19:15.13. Junior Eva Brydson (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) finished 57th in 19:47.1, while senior Grace Sheeran (Medina, Wash.) was 76th after hitting the tape in 20:01.8. Sophomore Hannah Noyes (Vinalhaven, Maine) placed 81st in 20:04.3, and freshman Tarvis Hintlian (Winchester, Mass.) crossed the line in 20:36.3 to round out the team's top five.
Assumption won the team title with 56 points by placing three runners in the top 10, while New England College's Abby Shafer won the individual crown in 17:53.1.
In addition, the Camels had a group of student-athletes compete in the subvarsity race. Sophomore Jamie Dee (Bedford, N.H.) paced the group by notching a time of 22:24.5.
Connecticut College will next trek to Lehigh to compete at the prestigious Paul Short Run on Friday, Sept. 29.
