Women’s Cross Country Starts Season Off Strong at Trinity Invitational

MANCHESTER, Conn. – Sophomore Meredith Cronin (Foxborough, Mass.) placed second individually to help lead the Connecticut College women's cross country team post a runner-up finish at the Trinity Invitational on Saturday at Wickham Park.

Cronin covered the 5,000-meter course in 20:08.4, which was only bettered by Trinity's Samantha Feenstra, to lead the way for the Camels. Sophomore Tarvis Hintlian (Winchester, Mass.) and senior Eva Brydson (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in 20:21.6 and 20:26.8, while freshman Rachel House (Merrimack, N.H.) punched in a time of 20:45.8 to finish 10th in her collegiate debut. Junior Hannah Noyes (Vinalhaven, Maine) completed the top five by hitting the tape 13th among 63 competitors in 20:55.4.

Led by individual champion Samantha Feenstra, Trinity edged out the Camels for the team title by five points by having five runners among the top-10 finishers.

Connecticut College will next trek to the Purple Valley Invitational in Williamstown, Mass. on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m.
