HADLEY, Mass. – A total of 78 Connecticut College student-athletes were named to the 2017-18 NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. The teams include the sports of basketball, ice hockey, indoor track & field, skiing, squash and swimming.
Connecticut College's women's swimming team placed 20 student-athletes on the all-academic team, which was the highest number of selections among Camel programs. Women's indoor track & field (18), men's ice hockey (13), men's indoor track & field (9), men's swimming (6), women's basketball (5), women's ice hockey (3), men's squash (2) and women's squash (2) all had at least one athlete chosen. In addition, the women's swimming program boasted the highest number of honorees among the 11 NESCAC institutions that sponsor the sport.
To be honored on the all-academic team, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing and be in good standing on their team with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.40. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution.
