ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Connecticut College coed sailing team won the Rudkin Team Race at Eckerd College held this past weekend. In the seven-team event, the Camels won all but one of the head-to-head races. The format of the event consisted of racing each team at the regatta in a double round robin.

This is the second consecutive victory for Connecticut College at the Rudkin Team Race. The Camels earned the win in 2020, the last year the event was held.

Throughout the weekend, the team worked well to execute their plays and strategies, and were led by senior skippers CJ McKenna (Harwich, Mass.), Tommy Whittemore (West Hartford, Conn.), Walter Henry (Syosset, N.Y.), and Will Bedford (Arlington, Mass.). The crew included freshman Liam Gronda (Chevy Chase, MD), sophomore Cecilia Bohan (Newport, R.I.), junior Allie Tillinghast (New York, N.Y.), senior Jean-Michel Bus (Sag Harbor, N.Y.), junior Katherine Wetzel (Osterville, Mass.), and junior Margaret Benson (Wellesley, Mass.), who also contributed to the win.

The Connecticut College coed team will next compete at Coast Guard on March 19 and 20 at the Southern New England Team Race, and the women's team will compete at the Camel Fleet Race at home.
