CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Connecticut College coed sailing team finished 11th out of 18 teams at the New England Team Race Championship, hosted by MIT. The Camels utilized a strong second day to push past Bowdoin and Tufts.
Junior
Walter Henry (Syosset, N.Y.) won the sportsmanship award, voted on by his peers.
Juniors Thomas Whittemore (West Hartford, Conn.) and Alexandra Tillinghast (New York, N.Y.) most notably finished 7th in Division B with 92 points.
At the Southern 7 race, the Camels finished third out of seven teams. Sophomores Andrew Powers (Rye, N.Y.) and Ashley Breyer (Middletown, R.I.) most notably led their team to this strong finish along with seniors AnaLucia Clarkson (Seattle, W.A.), Alexandra Wagner (Southport, Conn.), and junior Kensie Winton (Newton, Mass.)
Connecticut College will wait for the selection process on Tuesday night to see if they get an invite to the the ICSA National Championship hosted by Tulane at the end of the month.
