HADLEY, Mass. – Sophomore Ryan Petti (Tewksbury, Mass.) has been named the NESCAC Men's Ice Hockey Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. He is receiving the award for the first time this season.
Petti registered two goals and one assist to lead the Camels to an undefeated 1-0-1 record against NESCAC opponents on the road. After finding the back of the net in a 2-2 tie against Middlebury, he scored the equalizing goal early in the third period and set up the game-winning marker with 2:36 regulation to help the team earn a 3-2 comeback road win over Williams and avenge a lopsided 7-2 loss to the Ephs from earlier in the season.
The Connecticut College men's ice hockey program has now had two players garner NESCAC Player of the Week laurels over the last three weeks. Sophomore goalie Connor Rodericks (Buzzards Bay, Mass.) was previously recognized on Jan. 15 for his heroics in victories over then-No. 9 Hamilton and Amherst.
Connecticut College (8-9-1, NESCAC 7-4-1), which ended the weekend in second place in the NESCAC standings, will next travel to face Tufts on Friday, Feb. 2 at 7:00 p.m.
