Hackettstown, N.J. – Connecticut College's Luke Stoneback (Commerce, Mich.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) District II Academic All-America Men's Soccer Team, as announced by the organization on Thursday afternoon. The sophomore defender was chosen to the first team and is now eligible for Academic All-America accolades.
Stoneback, who anticipates to major in biology, has helped anchor a back line which has allowed one goal or less 12 times and shut out nine opponents through 16 matches. He also helped the 2018 squad record the second-best goals against average in the nation last fall. Beyond athletics, Stoneback is a member of the Presidential Scholars Group on campus.
Following today's announcements, Connecticut College has two student-athletes who have made the COSIDA Academic All-District Team in their respective sport during the 2019-20 academic year. Senior Sara Kogelmann (Guilderland, N.Y.) of the women's soccer program was also recognized this afternoon.
