Division II Bridgeport Edges Men’s Swimming on Senior Day


NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College men's swimming team was edged by Bridgeport, 137-123, in its final home meet of the season on Saturday afternoon at Lott Natatorium. 

The Camels, who recognized their three-member senior class prior to the meet, got started off strong when senior Jaleel Watler (Brooklyn, N.Y.) anchored the 200-yard medley relay team to a first-place finish in 1:36.17. The group also included freshmen Casey Keenan (Westford, Vt.) and Dash Hunter (Westport, Conn.) as well as classmate Mark Klepacki (Hadley, Mass.).

Sophomore Stefan Garbee (Weston, Conn.) and Colin Merrill (Glastonbury, Conn.) also swept the butterfly events. Garbee won the 100 fly in 52.56 seconds, while Merrill completed the 200 in 1:56.54.

Connecticut College (3-3) will next travel to Wesleyan to compete in a quad meet against Fairfield, Coast Guard and the host Cardinals on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
