ABILENE, Texas – A valiant comeback attempt during singles play came up just short as the Connecticut College men's tennis team was edged by Hardin-Simmons, 5-4, in a dual match on Monday afternoon.

Trailing 4-1 during the middle of singles action, the Camels' Julian Tien (Barrington, R.I.), Henry DeCoster (Greenwich, Conn.) and Sean Jenkins (Davidson, N.C.) all registered wins from the No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5 positions to knot the overall score at 4-4. Tien won by identical scores of 6-2, DeCoster took down Holt Fields by marks of 6-3, 4-6, and 7-6 (7-3), and Jenkins triumphed by marks of 7-6 (7-5) and 6-3. Joshua Lopez, however, defeated sophomore Walter Komishane (Manchester, Mass.) at No. 6 singles, 6-3 and 6-2, to clinch the team victory for the Cowboys.

Connecticut College (3-3) will look to conclude its spring break trek to the Lone Star State on a high note when it faces Dallas Baptist later on Tuesday afternoon.
