EASTON, Mass. – The Connecticut College men's tennis team opened its fall season at the Stonehill Doubles Invitational on Saturday morning. Two of the Camels' four pairs won their draw.
Juniors Zachary Danz (West Tisbury, Mass.) and Brian Gould (Lebanon, Conn.) teamed up to win from the No. 3 position. They defeated pairs from Eastern Nazarene, 6-3, in the quarterfinals, Roger Williams by a 6-0 score in the semifinals, and host Stonehill, 6-4, in the championship round.
Furthermore, freshman Aaron Fleishman (Brookline, Mass.) and junior Walter Komishane (Manchester, Mass.) were victorious at the No. 4 spot. The duo defeated pairs from Stonehill by identical scores of 6-4 in the quarterfinals and semifinals before capping the day with a 6-3 triumph over another Stonehill team in the championship match.
Connecticut College will next host a tournament with Coast Guard on Saturday, Sept. 14.
