HADLEY, Mass. – Connecticut College's Scott Mason (Wyndmoor, Pa.) and Aly Saperstein (Simsbury, Conn.) earned NESCAC Track & Field Performer of the Week laurels, as announced by the conference office. Mason was named the men's track athlete of the week, while Saperstein was awarded women's field athlete of the week laurels.
Mason finished fifth overall and first among Division III competitors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Sam Howell Invitational. He notched a time of 9:12.24, which also ranks tops among NESCAC student-athletes in the event.
Saperstein won the javelin throw with a toss of 128-feet, 10-inches at the Coast Guard Spring Invitational. She also currently sits atop the NESCAC leaderboard in her premier event. In addition, the senior registered a fourth-place mark of 140-10 in the hammer throw at the same meet to help the Camels place third overall as a team.
Connecticut College will next host the Silfen Invitational beginning on Friday, Apr. 13.
