SOMERVILLE, Mass. – The Connecticut College men's track & field program finished 14th out of 19 scoring teams at the Tufts Snowflake Classic on Saturday by accumulating 12 points.
Junior Danny Aschale (Cambridge, Mass.) put together the team's best performance, qualifying for the upcoming New England Division III Championships by placing fourth in the 1,500-meter run by hitting the tape in 4:00.76. Anchored by sophomore Ian McAleer (Newfields, N.H.), the 4x100-meter relay matched Aschale's finish by navigating the track in 44.44 seconds. The group also included junior Jake Beloin (Cheshire, Conn.) as well as freshmen Sabastian Cox (Washington, D.C.) and Matt Sambor (Longmeadow, Mass.).
Other notable efforts were made by freshman Ben Vazquez (Millington, N.J.) and Beloin. Vazquez finished the 800-meter run in 1:58.97, while Beloin posted a personal best mark in the triple jump by leaping 40-feet, 9-inches.
Connecticut College will next compete at the Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 6.
