PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Connecticut College men's water polo team fell to Brown by a 16-2 score at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center on Friday evening.
Brown (5-5), which led from wire-to-wire, held a 7-0 advantage after the first quarter and an 11-2 cushion at halftime. Matt Simko netted two goals in the opening quarter and was among six Bears to find the back of the net during the frame as part of a balanced attack.
Connecticut College (0-2) scored back-to-back markers courtesy of Tim Beloborodov (Moscow, Russia) and Arturo Freitas during the second quarter, but the team was held off the scoreboard for the remainder of the frame. The Bears closed out the game on an 8-0 run to earn their fifth victory of the season.
The Camels return home to host a two-day tournament over the weekend and will first face Penn State Behrend on Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
