INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Connecticut College men's cross country team will send three individuals to compete at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Lake Breeze Golf Club.
Senior Scott Mason (Chestnut Hill, Pa.), junior Danny Aschale (Cambridge, Mass.) and senior Price Day (Harvard, Mass.) all qualified after placing among the top 17 individuals at the NCAA New England Regional Championships this past weekend. Mason will most notably make his second appearance, while Aschale and Day will be competing at the championship event for the first time.
In order to be eligible to participate in the championships, teams and individuals must qualify in their respective NCAA regions. Thirty-two teams were selected to participate in each championship. The top two, seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the eight regions, for a total of 16 teams. Sixteen additional teams were selected at-large. Fifty-six individuals, the first seven student-athletes from each region who are not a part of a qualifying team, were selected to participate in each championship.
The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is hosting the championships on Nov. 18 at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wisconsin. The men's race will begin at 1:15 p.m. EST.
