WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Senior Danny Aschale (Cambridge, Mass.) and freshman Jeffrey Love (Union, N.J.) punched in top-14 times to propel the Connecticut College men's cross country team to a sixth-place finish among 11 schools at the NESCAC Championships on Saturday afternoon.
Aschale, a returning NCAA All-American, registered a fourth-place time of 25:45.7 to lead the way for the Camels as he has at every race this season. Love finished 13th to earn All-NESCAC laurels along with Aschale for registering a top-14 finish. Sophomore Ben Vazquez (Millington, N.J.), junior Ethan Milsark (Northampton, Mass.), and freshman Colm Seigne (Norwich, Vt.) completed the team's top five by finishing 39th in 26:55, 48th in 27:03.8, and 73rd in 27:38, respectively.
Paced by individual champion Aidan Ryan, Williams cruised to the team crown with 22 points. Amherst was a distant second with 97 points, while Middlebury (107), Colby (135), and Bates (138) rounded out the top five teams in the standings.
Connecticut College will next race at the USATF New England Championships on Sunday, Nov. 10.
