AMHERST, Mass.--Katlyn Paiva (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Kyla Floresca (West Memphis, Ark.) scored goals 1:49 apart in the first period of play to lead the Connecticut College women's hockey team to a 3-1 victory and series sweep against seventh ranked Amherst College today.
Elena Gualtieri (Rome, N.Y.) chipped in with a third period score for the winning side. Senior Katherine Chester (Mendham, N.J.) stopped 33 of 34 shots in goal to finish with a .984 save percentage and a .50 goals against average in the opening weekend of action.
The Camels were 13-for-14 (.929) on their penalty kill this weekend in Orr Rink.
Senior Sabrina Dobbins (New Castle, N.H.) had 23 saves for the Purple and White. Jocelyn Hunyadi (Pepper Pike, Ohio) supplied a second period score for the hosts.
The Camels will host Salve Regina University Tuesday, November 29 at 7:00 p.m. in Dayton Arena.
