First Connecticut College Team IMPACT Awareness Initiative To Take Place at Women’s Lacrosse Game on Saturday

Team IMPACT Awareness Initiative

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The first Connecticut College Team IMPACT Awareness initiative, in collaboration with the institution's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), will take place when the women's lacrosse team hosts Hamilton at Freeman Field on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.

Team IMPACT is a national nonprofit that connects children facing serious and chronic illnesses with local college athletic teams, forming life-long bonds and life-changing outcomes. The program was established at Connecticut College in 2013 and currently has three incredible Team IMPACT players, which includes Dominic (men's basketball), John Anthony (men's ice hockey), and Katalina (volleyball).

Kirby Heffrin '20, who is the first-ever Team IMPACT On-Campus Ambassador (OCA) at Connecticut College, as well as members of the athletic department's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be running a Team IMPACT table during the game with the goal of promoting and raising awareness of the program on campus while also fundraising to support the school's current partnership.

At the table, there will be a raffle for Team IMPACT gear with one ticket available for $3 and five for $10. Krispy Kreme donuts will also be sold, and all proceeds will directly benefit Team IMPACT.
