WORCESTER, Mass. – The Connecticut College women's rowing program raced in the New England Championships at Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday. The Camels posted won a race and also registered a runner-up performance to finish 12 among 28 scoring teams at the all-day event.
After edging out Bowdoin in a time trial, sophomore coxswain Anna Jeffers (Cambridge, Mass.) led the third varsity four to a victorious time of 8:07.501 in the grand final. The winning group also included juniors Madelyn Brewer (Dallas, Texas), Rebekah Duseau (Conway, Mass.), Julia Vitagliano (Newton, Mass.) and Alexa Bassler (Belmont, Mass.).
Freshman coxswain Kelley Spy Frumer (Bowdoinham, Maine) guided the second varsity four to a runner-up finish in 8:00.644. The team also consisted of sophomores Jessica Hunnewell (Sherborn, Mass.) and Emma Gutheinz (Camden, Maine) as well as juniors Martha Willey (New York, N.Y.) and Gavriella King (Raymond, Maine).
Connecticut College will trek back to Lake Quinsigamond next weekend to compete at the National Invitational Championship Regatta.
