Women’s Rowing Races for Fourth Time This Spring

Women's Rowing

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Connecticut College women's rowing team raced against several of the top programs in the country for the third consecutive weekend at Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday morning.

Battling through heavy rain and a strong direct headwind, the second varsity eight registered the highest finish of the day for the Camels in the petite race. Sophomore Kelley Frumer (Bowdoinham, Maine) guided her group to a second-place time of 8:11.7, which was also the program's fastest of the day.

The varsity eight, which was piloted by senior captain Joyce Welch (Cranston, R.I.), finished fourth in 8:12.70, while the timing of the third varsity eight's race was cut short due to a stopwatch malfunction caused by the heavy rains that negatively impacted all five teams competing.

Connecticut College returns to Lake Quinsigamond to compete against Franklin Pierce, Merrimack, Assumption, and Trinity on Saturday, Apr. 27.
