MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Sophomore Maddie Ford (Acton, Mass.) factored into three winning performances as the Connecticut College women's swimming team captured its fourth straight Connecticut Cup on Saturday afternoon at Wesleyan.
The Camels racked up 582 points, which bettered crosstown rival Coast Guard by 28 points to win the title at the scoring meet which also included Wesleyan, St. Joseph, Eastern Connecticut State and Western Connecticut State.
Ford won the 50-yard butterfly in 27.13 seconds and also swam the second leg for the victorious 200 and 400 free relay teams which registered marks of 1:39.81 and 3:37.94, respectively. Sophomore Kenzie Healy (Westport, Conn.) and senior Olivia Haskell (Norwalk, Conn.) also joined Ford on both winning freestyle relays.
In addition, the 200 medley relay also registered a winning time of 1:50.39. The group consisted of senior Maeve Wilber (New Marlborough, Mass.), sophomore Brooklyn Hayes (Granville, Mass.), freshman Vaughn Ammon (Franklin, Tenn.) and Haskell.
Connecticut College will next face Grinnell in Naples, Fla. on Jan. 5.
